General Efficacy of Baytril® in Pig Infections

Baytril has an extremely rapid bactericidal and mycoplasmicidal effect and excellent distribution in the tissues. Baytril is quickly absorbed after either parenteral or oral administration. Maximum concentrations in serum and tissues are reached after only 1 – 2 hours. Levels in tissues and body fluids mostly exceed those in the serum.

Baytril has been tried and tested in pigs worldwide, and has been found to provide rapid and reliable treatment in a wide range of pig infections, and furthermore to prevent relapses. Baytril has produced excellent cure rates in various infections of pigs. Pigs often have complex mixed infections; Baytril effectively attacks the organisms involved, including undiagnosed secondary pathogens.

Baytril is effective against a wide range of gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria and against mycoplasma.

Baytril can be used in enteric diseases, respiratory diseases, salmonellosis and MMA syndrome in sows.

The range of available formulations and packsizes always ensures the right therapeutic approach.
