Baytril® 0.5% Oral Solution/Piglet Doser

Composition
1 ml injectable solution contains 5 mg Enrofloxacin.

Indications for use
Enrofloxacin is a synthetic anti-infective of the fluoroquinolone class.
Baytril® 0.5% oral solution is indicated for the therapy of infectious diseases in piglets where clinical experience, supported if possible by sensitivity testing of the causal organisms, indicates Enrofloxacin as the drug of choice.

Respiratory and enteric diseases (Pasteurellosis, Mycoplasmosis, Colibacillosis, Colisepticaemia and Salmonellosis) and multifactorial diseases such as atrophic rhinitis and enzootic pneumonia.

Baytril® is effective against the following microorganisms: Mycoplasma spp., E. coli, Salmonella spp., Bordetella spp., Pasteurella spp., Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae and Staphylococcus spp.

Route of administration
For oral administration using the dosing pump.

Dosage
One pump stroke delivers 1 ml.

Give 1 ml for 2 up to 3 kg bodyweight and 3 ml up to 10 kg bodyweight daily for 3 to 5 days. In case of severe infections the dose can be doubled.
Pigs weighing more than 10 kg should be treated with Baytril 5% or 10% injectable solution.

Treatment interval
24 hours.

Duration of treatment
3 – 5 days.

Withdrawal period
Established for edible tissues according to national regulations.
