Baytril® 2.5% Oral Solution 

Composition
1 ml oral solution contains 25 mg Enrofloxacin.

Indications for use
Enrofloxacin is a synthetic antiinfective of the fluoroquinolone class.

Baytril® 2.5% oral solution is indicated for the therapy of infectious diseases in calves where clinical experience, supported where possible by sensitivity testing of the causal organisms, indicates Enrofloxacin as the drug of choice.

Respiratory and enteric diseases (Pasteurellosis, Mycoplasmosis, Colibacillosis, Colisepticaemia and secondary bacterial infections in crowding disease).

Baytril® is effective against the following microorganisms: Mycoplasma spp., E. coli, Salmonella spp., Haemophilus spp., Pasteurella spp., Klebsiella spp., Proteus spp., Vibrio parahaemolyticus and Staphylococcus aureus.

Route of administration
For direct oral administration or via drinking water, milk, milk replacer or electrolyte solutions.

Dosage
The dose rate is 2.5 mg  Enrofloxacin/ kg bw, (= 5 ml Baytril® 2,5% solution / 50 kg bw)  For complicated respiratory disease this rate may be doubled to 5 mg / kg bw ( = 10 ml Baytril® 2,5% solution / 50 kg bw).

Treatment interval
24 hours

Duration of treatment
3 – 5 days

Withdrawal period
Established for edible tissues according to national regulations
